Energy Consumption

This week’s episode gives our listeners some perspective on how much of the energy we consume is dependent on non-renewable resources like coal and oil.  Did you know that in 2004, 71% of our energy usage came from fossil fuels and that in 2008 that percentage went up to 85%?  That means that we increasing our dependence on these dwindling resources instead of utilizing greener renewable resources.  Tune in for more information.

Recycling in Schools

This week’s edition of the Fern Bluff GreenCast looks at the need for recycling in schools.  Our podcaster this week found out that our school threw away over 61,000 pounds of trash last year, and estimates that about half of it was recyclable.  Tune in to find out how she proposes to address this issue.
